Section 1:

legacy: Maniac Magee left a legacy behind. Even today, children in the neighborhood remember his past.
trolley: The trolley traveled along the track slowly.
trestle: Everyday Maniac's parents took the trestle bridge across the river to work.
musicale: Maniac preformed in the second grade musicale.
theory: The experts gave a proposed explanation, or theory, about why Maniac continues to run.
obvious: The answers on the test were very obvious.
infamous: Mars Bars Thompson is know for his infamous reputation or bad reputation.
mirage: Maniac thought he saw his mother in the distance, but it was a mirage.
hallucination: He was having a hallucination when he saw a ghost that wasn't really there.
samaritan: A good samaritan helps other people.
phantom: Maniac ran so fast he looked like an illusion; some called him a phantom.
stupefied: Amanda was stupefied or overwhelmed by this strange boy.
pandemonium: The neighborhood block party ended in pandemonium and chaos.
lumber(ed) The tired ball players lumbered off the field with heavy feet.
finicky: Maniac was not a finicky or picky eater.
